Lessons are not just about learning notes and memorizing scales. In our lessons, we will build on the fundamental techniques of the instrument with discussions on musicality, phrasing, interpretation and expression. Not only will you learn how to play your instrument, but you will learn how to practice effectively and, in a way, become your own teacher.
These skills will help with your playing and musicianship, but will also help you in your daily life. By studying music, you improve your ability to think critically, make goal-achieving strategies, expand your creativity
and enhance your coordination and multi-tasking skills.
Add to these skills by performing in a recital, participating in Master Classes or collaborating in a small ensemble and you will boost your confidence, learn how to work in a group and share your joy of music with others!

How do lessons work?
Your lesson is for as long as you like and as often as you like.
Some students prefer to have their lesson at the same time each week, while others have lessons twice a week, every two weeks, once a month or on a casual, drop-in basis.
Let me know your preference and availability and we will set up a schedule that works best for you.

HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
Lessons are paid for in Four Lesson Packages (generally, once per month)
An invoice will be provided through email to the student/caretaker
The student/caretaker can then send an e-transfer to amandajkinnear@gmail.com which will be automatically deposited
A receipt will then be provided through email to the student/caretaker
An attendance sheet will be kept to ensure that students receive each of the four lessons they have paid for in advance
Once those four lessons have been received, a new invoice will be provided through email for the next Four Lesson Package
